"Quilting in the Spirit of The Games" is the banner for projects supported by the Quilter's Guild for Olympic Year 2012. The Quilter's Guild is supporting both A Gift of Quilts and Quilts4London.(Pennants). The Olympic Spirit - is a bringing together of nations and people from all over the world. "One of the joys of patchwork and quilting is that it knows no boundaries. It is a truly international activity, and each country and culture brings something unique to the sewing table." Jenny Rundle has been involved in patchwork and quilting for over 25 years, being a member of local groups and as a member of the Quilters Guild of the British Isles both at a Regional level and local level. The quilt in the photograph "Memories of Den Haag" was selected for showing at Quilt Expo in The Hague and The Quilt Festival in Houston.
Sharon Garrick has been quilting for nearly 25 years. She is a member of two local groups and has been in the past an Area Representative, Regional Co-Ordinator and AGM Traders Organiser for the Quilters Guild of the British Isles. Sharon works part-time as the Registrar for a Theological College and teaches patchwork and quilting in the south of England and occasionally abroad. Mary Short of Bournemouth is also one of the five team members working with Jenny and Sharon. Mary is our Display Co-ordinator. Mary also helps us with the annual Quilters Day at the Fairground events .
