Jenny and helper Jane with the fabrics donated by Coats Crafts UK for A Gift of Quilts

More of the fabrics showing the wide range of colours and patterns that were cut up on the day.  Coats sent 320 metres of fabrics and matching threads.  The fabric was cut into 1 yard lengths and then packed in 2 yard packs with matching threads.  All done on Valentines Day 2010 in Salisbury.

Quilt No 30 made by Mary Hewson, New Milton, Hants

Land and Sea, Registration No 137.  Made by Meta Snell.  This shows part of the quilt made by Meta with sailing boats, fish in the sea and the beach. With the sailing events taking part in Weymouth more seaside themes might be inspired by this quilt.

Quilt Reg No 1: Jenny Rundle - Nine-patch Pizzaz. This was long-arm quilted by Mandy Parks. Please see our Interesting Extras page for Mandy's contact details.

A detail of the quilt above showing some of the quilting done by Mandy. What can not be seen is the way that Mandy outlined the flowers and gave an oriental authenticity to this quilt in a very distinctive way.  Mandy Parks is one of the long-arm quilters who have offered to quilt tops for Olympic quilts for those who are unable to do so themselves. We hope to bring more information about this generous offer by the long-arm quilters to you in due course.

Below - Just an idea.  This block is from a workshop titled Jubilee Logs. Worked with a selection of fabrics including Kaffe Fassett's. When completed the blocks appear to spin and quilting can emphasise this. Maybe you have been to a workshop where you can take your UFO and develop it into a stunning quilt for this Project.

This quilt, registration no 109, was made by the Clifton Quilters.  It is done using the Stack n' Whack method. All the roundals came from one fabric with a large pattern. See the close up picture below for another image of the technique.
